AMOXICILLIN, CARBENICILLIN, BACAMPICILLIN - ORAL
USES: This medication is a penicillin-related antibiotic that's used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.
HOW TO USE: Take this medication excatly as directed by your doctor.
This drug may be taken with or wihtout food.
Antibitoics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level.
Do this by taking the medication at evenly spcaed intervals throughout the day and night. Continue to take this mdeication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days.
Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow and may result in a realpse of the infection.
SIDE EFFECTS: This mediaction may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Inform your doctor if the follwoing rare side effects occur: sore mouth, sore throat, fever, simple bruising or bleeding.
In the unlikely event you have an alelrgic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathnig.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Before using this drug tell your doctor your medical hsitory especially: kidney disease, stomach/intestinal problems, blood disorders, allergies to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics, any other allergies. Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secodnary infection (e.G., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection).
Before using this drug, tell your doctor if you are pregannt.
This drug is excreted into breast milk and may have an effect on a nursing infant.
Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor and pharmacist of all medications you may use both prescription and nonprescription, and especially: birth conrtol pills, live vaccines, tetracycline. This drug may interfere with the effectiveness of bitrh control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. Do not strat or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overodse is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include seizures, agitation, confusion, termors hallucinations, unconsciousness, muscle weakness, or headaches.
NOTES: This medictaion has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it later for another infection or give it to someone else. A different medication may be necessray in those cases.
MISSED DOSE: If you should miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered unelss it is almost time for the next dose. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usaul dosing schedule.
Do not "double-up" the dose.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature as diercted by the product labeling or your prescription bottle. Stroe away from light and moisture.
Do not store in the bathorom.
Keep all medicines away from kids and pets.
